What We Did

In 2020, March For Our Lives hosted an Art Intervention Tour for swing states across the United States. It highlighted the role that art activism plays in telling the stories of gun violence victims during elections and as a tool for advocating gun prevention.

The Challenge

Getting out the vote for the 2020 election by focusing on specific site-related topics that may encourage voting.

Our Approach

We helped March For Our Lives in this tour by commissioning artists to create artwork to encourage voter participation in key states. Nine states—Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin—were chosen because the voices of youth voters have the best chance to be heard there.

“I have identified myself as an artivist because I believe in fighting for the rights of folks who cannot fight for themselves. I also believe my art is my superpower."
